SUNUP Reflective Orchard Film
SUNUP Reflective Orchard Film reflects 85% or more of Ultraviolet rays from the sun up into the underside of the tree.  The increased exposure to UV  improves fruit color, size, and even taste in some cases.
Benefits:
  • Growers will see noticeable improvement in color blush, fruit sizes and sets.
  • Some fruit will see an increase in brix levels which improves taste.
  • Earlier and balanced harvesting.
  • Improved harvesting time due to the reduction in passes for picking
Improved Fruit Color:
  • Red color development in tree fruit, whether nectarine, apple, cherry, pomegranate, etc., is triggered by a chemical reaction which changes the red pigment precursor "cyanidin" to "ideain" the red pigment.
  • The initial color change noted when using reflective orchard film is in the background color, which can be seen in as few as four days after the material is placed in the field.
  • The best red color enhancement occurs when the film is placed in the orchard three to four weeks prior to harvest.
SUNUP Reflective Mulch Film
Higher yields of quality produce with reduced chemical needs.
Uses:
  • Barrier Mulch Film - Reduces usage of water and chemicals by creating a barrier that slows the rate of evaporation from the ground.
  • IPM (Integrated Pest Management) - Reduces or eliminates pest infestation.  Ultraviolet and Infrared wavelengths are reflected from the sun, effectively camouflaging crops from flying pests.
Benefits:
  • Film barrier properties have shown a 25% or better reduction in chemical usage (methyl bromide).
  • Reduction of insect infestation and feeding damage.
  • Significant reduction in major yield reducing viruses.
  • Reduced water usage.
Reflected UV & Infrared wavelengths contribute to:
  • Increased photosynthetic growth.
  • Reduction of moisture on lower leaves to prevent or delay onset of fungal growth.
  • Effectively manages high and low temperature swings reducing plant stress.

Envrionmental Commitment
We work closely with our suppliers and customers to limit waste. Each year we succeed at preventing more than 500 tons of film, pallets, aluminum and paperboard from entering landfills.

Sustainability
Our “barrier film solutions” become a functional, integral part of packaging; effectively extending the shelf-life of products that otherwise would spoil or degrade quickly. Contact us today to learn more about your sustainability options.
